Reliable leak prevention, applied in advance. Our pre-applied thread sealing coatings are engineered to deliver reliable leak prevention in fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling system assemblies. These dry-to-the-touch sealants are non-curing adhesives that seal upon fastener installation, forming a durable, chemical-resistant barrier that eliminates the need for liquid sealants, Teflon tape, or post-assembly curing.
Pre-applied thread sealants, including Vibra-Seal 516 and 517 (orange), Dri-Seal 513 (white, NSF-approved), and Federal Process Everseal, are dry-to-the-touch sealants that seal upon fastener installation, forming a durable, chemical-resistant barrier for fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling-system assemblies. No liquid pipe dope, no Teflon tape, no post-assembly curing.

How pre-applied thread sealing works.
A pre-applied thread sealant does the same job as liquid pipe dope or Teflon tape, without the mess, the cure wait, or the operator variability. Read left to right.
A · DRY FILM
Applied in Advance
A water-based sealant film is applied to the threads ahead of time and dries to the touch. The fastener is clean and inert in storage and handling — no wet chemistry, no mess at the assembly cell.
B · CURE ON INSTALL
Seals on the First Turn
On assembly the film is compressed between mating threads, forming a tight-clinging barrier that blocks fluid and gas leak paths from the first turn. No cure wait. No technique variability.
C · SERVICEABLE
Disassembles Clean
Non-curing sealant types stay resilient. The joint can be taken apart and resealed in the field — no scraping cured dope, no re-taping. Essential for any assembly that needs field service access.

Vibra-Seal
Pre-applied, water-based sealant that dries to a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing film for tapered or straight threads. Vibra-Seal 516 (orange) and 517 (orange) are the GM-NA variant grades — specified on most domestic automotive thread-sealing callouts. Rated to 300°F. Reusable and resistant to most fluids.

Dri-Seal
Pre-applied, water-based sealant for higher-temperature service — rated to 350°F and resistant to most fluids. Loctite 513 (Dri-Seal white) carries NSF/ANSI 61 approval for use on potable-water-system fasteners. Flow-coatable for plumbing-line and food-equipment applications.
