Dri-Seal 513 White.
NSF-approved, low-viscosity pre-applied thread sealant rated to 350°F — 50°F above the Vibra-Seal family. Non-curing, reusable, works on tapered and straight threads in metal or plastic fittings. A pure thread sealant: it seals against fluid and gas migration; it does not provide vibration-resistant locking. For plumbing, potable water, brake, and compressor thread sealing where temperature matters.

NSF-approved pre-applied sealant to 350°F — pure seal for plumbing and high-heat threads.
Dri-Seal 513 is the low-viscosity member of the Loctite Dri-Seal pre-applied thread sealant family, NSF approved for potable water, rated to 350°F, formulated for both tapered and straight threads on metal or plastic fittings. It is a pure thread sealant: it seals, but it does not provide vibration-resistant locking.
The 513 formulation is a water-based, low-viscosity sealant that dries to a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing film on the thread surface. Low viscosity means the film flows into standard-clearance threads, NPT tapered pipe fittings, straight thread hydraulic connections, shower heads, sensor ports, and similar applications where the thread geometry is normal and there is no significant gap to fill. For assemblies with looser tolerances or larger annular gaps, the Dri-Seal 513HV (high-viscosity) variant delivers the same NSF and 350°F performance in a thicker, gap-filling formulation.
The non-curing chemistry allows disassembly and reassembly without stripping the sealed surface. The 350°F continuous-service ceiling is a meaningful advantage over the Vibra-Seal sealant family (300°F max), making Dri-Seal 513 the correct choice for brake fittings, compressor pipe, and other assemblies near sustained heat sources where the Vibra-Seal rating would be exceeded. This product does not provide vibration-resistant locking. For vibration-resistant thread sealing, specify a Vibra-Seal grade.
NSF approval qualifies the Dri-Seal 513 for potable water, food-equipment, and plumbing applications, shower head fittings, water sprinkler systems, and pipe fittings where an NSF-listed pre-applied sealant is a specification or procurement requirement. The white color is consistent with plumbing and food-equipment environments where appearance and hygiene standards apply, and it provides a clear visual distinction from the orange automotive Vibra-Seal grades in mixed-SKU production environments.

Why engineers reach for Dri-Seal 513
NSF-approved low-viscosity pre-applied thread sealant rated to 350°F. The correct grade for plumbing, potable water, and heat-adjacent applications where Vibra-Seal’s 300°F ceiling is insufficient.

PRODUCT FAMILY
Loctite Dri-Seal 513WHITE
Low-viscosity member of the Loctite Dri-Seal pre-applied thread sealant family. NSF approved for potable water. For looser fits or larger leak paths, see Dri-Seal 513HV (high viscosity).
CHEMISTRY
Water-BasedNON-CURING SEALANT
Water-based sealant that dries to a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing film. Does not cure anaerobically, remains flexible and readjustable.
FUNCTION
Thread SealPURE SEALANT
Dri-Seal 513 is a pure thread sealant; it seals, it does not provide vibration-resistant locking. For vibration-resistant sealing, specify a Vibra-Seal grade.
VISCOSITY
LowSTANDARD THREAD FITS
Low-viscosity formulation for standard thread fits on tapered (NPT) or straight threads. For looser fits or larger gaps, use Dri-Seal 513HV (high viscosity).
NSF APPROVAL
ApprovedPOTABLE WATER
NSF approved for potable water, required for plumbing, shower fittings, water sprinklers, and food-equipment hardware where an NSF-listed sealant is specified.
TEMPERATURE RANGE
Up to 350°FCONTINUOUS
350°F continuous-service ceiling, 50°F higher than the Vibra-Seal 503/517 family (300°F). The temperature advantage makes Dri-Seal 513 the correct choice for brake fittings, compressor pipe, and other assemblies near sustained heat sources.
VIBRATION RESISTANCE
NoPURE SEALANT
Not rated for vibration resistance. Where Vibra-Seal grades provide both sealing and vibration-resistant locking, the 513 seals only. Specify a Vibra-Seal grade where vibration loosening is also a concern.
THREAD COMPATIBILITY
Tapered + StraightNPT + UN/METRIC
Effective on both tapered (NPT) and straight (UN, metric) thread forms, on metal or plastic fittings.
REUSABILITY
YesREADJUSTABLE
Non-curing film allows disassembly and reassembly. Gauges, sensors, and adjustment screws can be repositioned without stripping the sealed surface.
