When 300°F isn't enough — the high-temperature Dri-Loc grade for European OEM programs.
Dri-Loc 2045 occupies a specific position in the Loctite Dri-Loc family: it is the grade you reach for when the temperature ceiling of 204 Red isn’t sufficient, and when the print references a European OEM specification — GME51, Ford WX200, or DIN 267 Part 27.
The 2045 formulation is a water-based, fast-cure film engineered for plated and stainless steel fasteners in demanding thermal environments. Where the standard 300°F Dri-Loc grades are the right answer for most automotive assembly, 2045 is the specification when the service environment involves sustained heat above 300°F — engine compartment hardware, exhaust-adjacent fasteners, and powertrain components in high-performance or commercial vehicle programs.
On assembly, mating thread engagement excludes air from the film and triggers the fast-cure reaction. The resulting joint provides medium-to-high break-loose resistance with good vibration performance, heat ageing, and solvent resistance — the combination that earned 2045 its place on European OEM drivetrain prints. The film is not designed to be serviced. Removal requires extended torque or heat; the film is consumed and reinstall requires reapplication.
2045 Red works with Loctite P2 and P3 activator caps for fasteners M6 and above — a requirement to note on prints that specify the product for smaller metric hardware. For fine threads and fasteners below M6, an alternative SKU should be confirmed with the engineering desk. The red pigment provides a clear visual distinction from yellow (200/201), silver (203), and green (202) grades, supporting QA inspection in mixed-SKU production environments.

PRODUCT FAMILY
Loctite Dri-Loc 2045RED
Medium-to-high-strength member of the Dri-Loc dry-film family. Engineered specifically for high-temperature service and European OEM drivetrain programs. Distinguishable by red pigment.
CHEMISTRY
Water-BasedDRY FILM
Anaerobic-cure resin in a water-carrier film. Inert until air is excluded by mating thread compression. Dry to touch in storage — does not migrate or activate prematurely.
STRENGTH RATING
Medium-to-HighVIBRATION-RATED
Positioned between standard medium and high-strength grades. Good break-loose torque with vibration resistance validated against industry cyclic-load standards. Removal requires extended torque or heat.
TEMPERATURE RANGE
Up to 400°FCONTINUOUS
Highest temperature rating in the standard Dri-Loc product line — equal to Dri-Loc 201. Specifically noted for good hot strength, heat ageing, and solvent resistance. The correct choice when 204 Red (300°F) falls short.
CURE MECHANISM
Fast CureRT · ON ASSEMBLY
Fast-cure formulation compared to standard Dri-Loc grades. Cure begins when air is excluded by thread engagement. No oven step. Full cure within 24 hr at room temperature.
SUBSTRATE COMPATIBILITY
Plated & Stainless+ PLAIN/PASSIVATED
Engineered for plated and stainless steel fasteners. Also suitable for plain and passivated metal surfaces — broader substrate compatibility than most Dri-Loc grades. High dried adhesion on all listed surfaces.
OEM SPECIFICATIONS
GME51 · WX200DIN 267/27
Meets GME51 (GM Europe), Ford Worldwide standard WX200 (October 1996), and DIN 267 Part 27. Designed specifically to meet automotive OEM specification requirements for European drivetrain and powertrain programs.
IFI SPECIFICATIONS
IFI-525 · IFI-560+ FORD WSS
Also meets IFI-525 (screws, adhesive, metric), IFI-560 (nuts, adhesive, metric), WSS-M11P45-A1, and WSS-M11P4J-A1 Ford material specs. Verify against your current print — confirm with engineering desk on intake.
ACTIVATOR CAPS
P2 and P3CAPSULAR
Works best with Loctite DRI Capsular P2 and P3 activator caps. NOT recommended for fine threads or fasteners M6 or smaller. For small fasteners in the 2045 strength range, consult engineering for an alternative SKU.
VIBRATION RESISTANCE
YesSUSTAINED
Validated against industry-standard cyclic-load tests. Good heat-ageing properties ensure vibration resistance is maintained at elevated service temperatures.
REUSABILITY

Film is consumed at install. For reusable mechanical lock, see Bradley Nylon Patch.
VISUAL ID
Red PigmentQA-INSPECTABLE
Red distinguishes 2045 from yellow (200/201), silver (203), and green (202) grades. In mixed-SKU environments, red signals the high-temperature European-spec grade at a glance.
FASTENER SIZE RANGE
M6 AND ABOVEPREFERRED
P2/P3 activator cap requirement makes this grade best suited to fasteners M6 or larger. For smaller metric fasteners requiring similar performance, consult engineering.
