Dri-Loc 200 Yellow.
High-strength, dry-to-touch pre-applied thread locker for high-vibration assemblies. Inert in storage, cures on assembly, seals while it locks. Specified into automotive, marine, and industrial engine programs since the early days of pre-applied chemistries. Optimized for phosphate-and-oil fasteners — the most common OEM surface prep on the planet.
Normal lead time 1–2 weeks — from receipt at our dock to processed parts back on yours. Rush accommodated on request. Customer pays inbound and outbound freight; F.O.B. St. Charles, IL.

Dri-Loc 200 is the high-strength member of the Loctite Dri-Loc yellow film family — the answer for fasteners that have to survive sustained vibration without losing preload, and that aren’t expected to be serviced in the field.
The 200-series film is a water-based formulation engineered to bond tenaciously to phosphate-and-oil substrates — the most common surface preparation on automotive and industrial OEM fasteners. Stored on the shelf, the film is dry to touch and dimensionally stable; it does not migrate, does not pick up dust, and does not activate prematurely.
On assembly, mechanical compression between mating threads excludes air from the film and triggers cure. The resulting joint resists loosening from cyclic loading, thermal cycling, and high-frequency vibration. It is not designed to be serviced. Removal is possible with extended torque or applied heat, but the film is consumed in the process; reinstall calls for reapplication.
The yellow pigment is intentional — it gives the line a clear visual inspection cue. A QA tech can verify presence of product across an entire batch with a glance, which is part of why 200 Yellow remains the most-specified Dri-Loc SKU on heavy-duty fastener prints. Yellow is also the conventional color code for high-strength Loctite threadlocker across the full product family.
SPEC AT A GLANCE
Why engineers reach for 200 Yellow
Three reasons it shows up on so many drawings — tenacity on phosphate-and-oil substrates, the high-strength break-loose target, and the yellow visual cue that speeds QA inspection.

PRODUCT FAMILY
Loctite Dri-Loc 200YELLOW
High-strength member of the Dri-Loc dry-film family. The most-specified yellow threadlocker in OEM automotive and industrial fastener programs. Distinguishable by yellow pigment.
CHEMISTRY
Water-BasedDRY FILM
Anaerobic-cure resin in a water-carrier film. Inert until air is excluded by mating thread compression. Film is dry to touch; does not migrate in storage.
STRENGTH RATING
HighVIBRATION-RATED
Designed to maintain preload under sustained vibration loading. Removal requires extended torque or applied heat. Not intended for field service.
TEMPERATURE RANGE
Up to 300°F · CONTINUOUS
Continuous-service ceiling to 300°F. Short-duration excursions higher are tolerated; consult engineering for sustained service above 300°F.
CURE MECHANISM
AnaerobicRT · ON ASSEMBLY
Cure begins when air is excluded by thread engagement. No oven step. Initial cure within minutes; full cure within 24 hr.
SUBSTRATE COMPATIBILITY
Phosphate & OilFERROUS
Formulated specifically for the phosphate-and-oil substrate — manganese or zinc phosphate with light oil dressing. The most common automotive/industrial fastener prep. Not recommended for plated, stainless, or brass without verification. For plated substrates see Dri-Loc 201; for stainless see 204.
VIBRATION RESISTANCE
YesSUSTAINED
Validated against industry-standard cyclic-load tests. Maintains preload through extended vibration, thermal cycling, and mechanical load.
REUSABILITY
NoSINGLE-INSTALL
Film is consumed at install. For reusable mechanical lock, see Bradley Nylon Patch.
VISUAL ID
Yellow PigmentQA-INSPECTABLE
Yellow is the standard color code for high-strength Loctite threadlocker. QA tech can verify coating presence across an entire batch at a glance. Pigment is consistent across the fastener length.
FASTENER SIZE RANGE
