The Bradley 360° Yellow Nylon Patch extends the mechanical patch concept across the full circumference of the fastener thread. Where the standard 90°/120° pattern (see White Nylon Patch) covers a portion of the thread, the 360° pattern engages the entire circumference — adding a sealing function to the mechanical lock and extending the technology to internally-threaded parts like nuts.
Like the standard-coverage grade, the 360° patch is a nylon material fused into the thread profile via a water-based application process — the locking mechanism itself remains mechanical, generated by the interference fit between the patch and the mating thread. Because there is no chemical cure step, fasteners are ready for use immediately after processing. The full 360° coverage means the patch contacts the entire thread circumference rather than a 90 to 120 degree arc.
Full-circumference contact does two things the 90°/120° pattern doesn’t: it closes off more of the thread’s potential leak path, giving the 360° patch a secondary sealing function alongside its mechanical lock, and it extends the application to nuts and other internally-threaded parts where a partial-arc patch may be less practical. The mechanical lock remains reusable. As with the standard pattern, the fastener can be removed and reinstalled without losing the locking function — the nylon patch is a durable feature of the part, not a consumable.
Chemical resistance matches the rest of the Bradley Nylon Patch line — fuels, hydraulic fluids, most commercial solvents, alcohols, and gasoline, to 250°F continuous. The decision between the 360° and 90°/120° patterns comes down to the application: the 90°/120° White Nylon Patch is the standard, general-purpose choice for externally-threaded bolts and screws; the 360° Yellow Nylon Patch is the choice when the assembly needs locking and sealing together, or when the part being treated is a nut or other internally-threaded component.
