The Bradley 360° Black Nylon Patch delivers the same full-circumference mechanical locking and sealing performance as the 360° Yellow Nylon Patch — the difference is color, and that difference is the point. Black is specified for assemblies where hardware appearance is a design requirement alongside thread security.
Like the 360° Yellow grade, the 360° Black patch is a nylon material fused into the thread profile via a water-based application process, covering the full 360° circumference of the thread. The mechanical interference fit between the patch and the mating thread generates the lock — no chemical cure, no activation, no waiting. The fastener is mechanically ready the moment it leaves the application process and remains ready through repeated removal and reinstall cycles.
Full-circumference coverage provides both locking and sealing — the patch closes off the thread path more completely than a partial-arc pattern, creating a secondary seal against fluid migration alongside the primary vibration-resistant mechanical lock. This makes the 360° grade appropriate for nuts and internally-threaded components as well as externally-threaded bolts and screws, and for applications where both locking and thread-sealing are required in a single fastener coating.
The case for black over yellow comes down to the hardware context. On black-anodized fasteners, dark-finish assemblies, consumer products with dark color schemes, or any application where a yellow or white patch would be visually inconsistent with the surrounding hardware, the 360° Black grade delivers identical mechanical performance with a neutral visual profile. For applications where patch color is not a concern, the 360° Yellow grade provides the same specification. The selection is a color decision, not a performance decision.
