Dri-Seal 513HV White.
NSF-approved, high-viscosity pre-applied thread sealant rated to 350°F. Gap-filling non-curing film for tapered and straight threads in metal or plastic fittings, the high-viscosity counterpart to Dri-Seal 513, for threads where the standard-viscosity grade drains away before achieving full seal coverage. A pure thread sealant: seals against fluid and gas migration; does not provide vibration-resistant locking.
Standard lead time 1–2 weeks — from receipt at our dock to coated parts back on yours. Rush accommodated on request. Customer pays inbound and outbound freight; F.O.B. St. Charles, IL.

High-viscosity NSF sealant. Gap-filling, 350°F, and ready immediately.
Dri-Seal 513HV is the high-viscosity member of the Loctite Dri-Seal family, NSF approved for potable water, rated to 350°F, and engineered for threads where the standard-viscosity 513 would drain away before achieving full seal coverage. Same formula, higher viscosity, larger gaps.
The 513HV formulation is a water-based, high-viscosity sealant that dries to a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing film. High viscosity means the film stays in place on threads with looser tolerances or larger annular gaps — a thicker film fills the leak path before it can drain. Because the chemistry is non-curing, the film remains flexible and the joint can be disassembled and reassembled without stripping the seal. The product works on both tapered (NPT) and straight thread forms, on metal or plastic fittings.
The 350°F continuous-service ceiling is 50°F above the Vibra-Seal sealant family, making Dri-Seal 513HV the correct high-viscosity choice for brake fittings, compressor pipe, and other assemblies near sustained heat sources that would exceed Vibra-Seal ratings. The product is a pure thread sealant; sealing is the sole function. It does not provide vibration-resistant locking. For high-viscosity vibration-resistant sealing at up to 300°F, see Vibra-Seal 516 (orange, GM-NA grade). For gap-filling at 350°F with sealing only, 513HV is the grade.
NSF approval qualifies the 513HV for potable water, food-equipment, and plumbing applications, shower head fittings, water sprinkler systems, and pipe fittings where an NSF-listed pre-applied sealant is required. The selection between 513 and 513HV is purely a viscosity decision: standard or tight thread fits take the low-viscosity 513; looser fits, larger gaps, or applications where a standard sealant has historically drained away take the 513HV.

Why engineers reach for Dri-Seal 513HV
High-viscosity NSF-approved pre-applied thread sealant — the gap-filling grade for 350°F applications where standard-viscosity sealants drain away from looser threads before sealing.

PRODUCT FAMILY
Loctite Dri-Seal 513HVWHITE
High-viscosity member of the Loctite Dri-Seal pre-applied thread sealant family. NSF approved for potable water. 513HV is the gap-filling counterpart to the standard 513 (low viscosity) — same NSF, same 350°F, same white color. Viscosity is the only decision point.
CHEMISTRY
Water-BasedNON-CURING SEALANT
Water-based sealant that dries to a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing film. Does not cure anaerobically — remains flexible and readjustable.
FUNCTION
Thread SealPURE SEALANT
Dri-Seal 513HV is a pure thread sealant — sealing is the sole function. Does not provide vibration-resistant locking. Specify a Vibra-Seal grade where vibration resistance is also required.
VISCOSITY
HighSUPERIOR GAP-FILLING
High-viscosity formulation for threads with looser fit, larger leak paths, or gap-filling requirements. The thicker film stays in place on looser threads rather than draining before the seal sets. For standard or tight thread fits, use Dri-Seal 513 (low viscosity).
NSF APPROVAL
ApprovedPOTABLE WATER
NSF approved for potable water — required for plumbing, shower fittings, water sprinklers, and food-equipment hardware where an NSF-listed sealant is specified.
TEMPERATURE RANGE
Up to 350°FCONTINUOUS
350°F continuous-service ceiling — 50°F higher than the Vibra-Seal family (300°F max). For high-heat applications that also need gap-filling, 513HV is the appropriate grade.
VIBRATION RESISTANCE
NoPURE SEALANT
Not rated for vibration resistance. For vibration-resistant thread sealing at higher viscosity, specify Vibra-Seal 516 (high viscosity, 300°F, GM-NA).
THREAD COMPATIBILITY
Tapered + StraightNPT + UN/METRIC
Effective on both tapered (NPT) and straight (UN, metric) thread forms — and on metal or plastic fittings.
REUSABILITY
YesREADJUSTABLE
Non-curing film allows disassembly and reassembly without stripping the seal.
